Diversity and Inclusion

A diverse and welcoming community is very important us. We believe that diverse environments make a meaningful personal and professional difference and in Visp, we are proud to be a home to employees of more than 70 nationalities.

As part of the local diversity and inclusion program, we recently introduced bilingualism (German/English), launched a “women@lonza” network and are continuously investing in supporting childcare options in our region. We also actively foster social connections through a wide range of organized employee activities and events throughout the year.

Workplace Health Promotion

At our Visp site, employees are encouraged to participate in sports and wellbeing activities and events as part of the “Lonza Makes You Fit” health program. The program includes year-round training for running and cycling and can be used to help prepare for participation in selected sporting events or enjoyed as part of ongoing fitness and health activities.

“Lonza Makes You Fit” offers employees the following:

Fit logo run Running: Participation at the Gornergrat-Zermatt Marathon, joint training sessions, internal Lonza running club
Lonza makes you fit logo bicycle Cycling: Participation at the Bärg-Priis event, joint training sessions and rides, spinning classes
Lonza makes you fit logo heart Energy for every day: Pura mobilis (mobility/coordination/strengthening training), virtual movement breaks, Sypoba, Mindful at work (mindfulness training)

In addition, Lonza Visp also offers additional workplace health promotion activities, such as ergonomic workplace setting assessments in the office or at home, or support to give up smoking.

People Care Center

The People Care Center (PCC) at our Visp site helps employees who have fallen ill or have suffered an accident to return to work. It also acts as a contact point in the event of difficult and challenging life situations for all employees. Services range from one-off short-term counselling to longer-term support programs and are free of charge for all Lonza Visp employees.
