We are looking for experienced Scientists to work in the field of mRNA Nanopore Sequencing with strong evidence for delivering on commitments and working collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams. This is a 12 month rolling fixed term contract.

Role Purpose: To lead assay platform development, validate and implement sequencing platform

  • Proficient in executing laboratory activities for development and implementation of mRNA Nanopore Sequencing and hands on experience in performing Sanger sequencing is a must.
  • Troubleshoot method challenges in a creative and controlled manner.
  • Act as a project manager and technical point of contact in the area of responsibility.
  • Design and execute advanced experimental plans and data analysis methods, write, and review high quality reports.
  • Sound knowledge of GMP and GDP.
  • Hands-on experience of method validation as per various regulatory guidelines like ICH, USP is required while equipment qualification experience is desirable.
  • Provide strong scientific, technical, and regulatory leadership at project level.
  • Understanding of data analysis tools and relevant statistical methods.
  • Implementation of Design of Experiments (DoE), and qualification/validation for regulated analytical or bioanalytical assays

Key Accountabilities and Duties:

  • Practical experience of the applied use of nanopore sequencing of DNA and direct sequencing of RNA and/or methylation sequencing within both research and industry settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sample processing, performing quality control assessments using tools such as FastQC, , as well as executing library preparation and sequencing protocols on Oxford Nanopore devices.
  • Hands-on experience in the comprehensive analysis and visualization of sequencing data using various software, or proficiency in developing custom pipelines to extract meaningful insights from sequencing datasets.
  • Prior work experience in Quality Control laboratory is a plus.
  • Practical experience of method development and validation to regulatory standards is of benefit.
  • Experience of using Linux/Unix, scripting, python-based data analysis. Execute laboratory activities for development and implementation of mRNA nanopore sequencing.
  • Knowledge in performing enzymatic assays and HPLC analytics is preferred but not essential
  • Design and execute DoE studies & high-throughput screen for analytical methods improvements and advancements
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently work in a fast paced and fluid environment, changes in priority and timeline restrictions

Qualifications:

  • MSc, and or PhD degree in a relevant field like Molecular Biology/Biotechnology-based field, and several years of related industry experience - preferably in an RNA-related field.
