REACH Specialist

To comply with global chemical regulations, we are looking for a REACH Specialist for supervision and coordination of REACH and REACH-like activities within all business units. You will assume responsibilities in the management of technical tools used in chemical and or product notification/registration, REACH-like product assessment. You will also be accountable for the preparation of dossiers, dossier submission to the authorities and supporting procedures to ensure compliance to chemical regulations as well as REACH-like regulations. As a member of the REACH team, you will understand key business processes and related data structures in SAP EHS system.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the business departments on all REACH and REACH-like related issues.
- Preparation, submission, and maintenance of registration dossiers via IUCLID and other chemical databases.
- Interface with relevant authorities, industry associations and institutes on regulatory matters.
- Provide strategic guidance on compliance and future growth plans to business based on regulatory landscape.
- Conduct regular trainings and workshops for business units and Lonza subsidiaries on REACH-like issues.
- Preparation of presentations and e-learning materials.
- Consult and communicate strategies for REACH compliance.
- Function as contact for internal and external compliance requests.
- Establish operational procedures and structured documentation.
- Support general Product Safety tasks such as product classification according to Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and Dangerous Goods (DG) Regulation, author and manage regionally compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Develop relationships with key customers (internal and external) to assure appropriate communication, responses, and solutions are provided.
- Interact with respond to external customers, suppliers, and other applicable teams/functions in supporting product regulatory and compliance solutions, needs, and responses.
Key requirements:
- You have experience in the bio-pharmaceutical and/or chemical industry; Bachelor degree in the field of chemistry, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- In-depth knowledge of the chemicals regulation REACH and REACH-like regulations as well as other chemicals-related regulations such as RoHS, TSCA etc.
- Ideally you are familiar with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) and DG (Dangerous Goods) regulation of chemicals.
- You are interested in being a reliable team member in a multi-cultural environment with a high team spirit.
- You are a well-organized person with excellent documentation skills and very good communication skills
- SAP EHS and SVT (Substance Volume Tracking) experience.
- A high degree of independence, initiative and commitment
- Quick perception, as well as a proactive, structured and goal-oriented way of working
- Business fluency in German and English
