As part of the Global Talent Acquisition COE, the Global Contingent Workforce Lead will work in a cross-functional environment to define contingent workforce solutions & strategies for Lonza across sites & divisions

In this role, You will work closely with Procurement, Finance, IT, HR colleagues, business customers, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders, to design customer centric efficient process, leveraging technology (Fieldglass / Workday) and automation, and building a solid data driven decision making platform that gets Lonza future ready for enabling greater access to and retention of contingent talent.

Key responsibilities:

You will manage the day to day contingent workforce program operations, setting up metrics, evaluating results and proactively identifying continuous improvement opportunities that drive effective and efficient delivery of services within global frameworks.

Act as business process owner for the contingent workforce program. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Design fit for purpose contingent workforce solutions across functions, divisions and sites
  • Collaborate across functions (HR, IT, Procurement and legal) to ensure an overall fit for purpose delivery of contingent workers
  • Act as SME within system related projects, functional system enhancements and on-going business as usual development or escalations
  • Accountability for identifying improvements in the area of end to end processes (process maps, global work instructions, how to guides, knowledge articles)
  • Respond to service escalations for contingent workforce program and play an active role in resolution, closure and root cause analysis
  • Design and implementation of optimal Contingent Workforce strategies that deliver business centric outcomes through automation and efficiency, tapping into market best practices and innovation
  • Manage and coordinate of large global and regional service provider(s) to enable optimal service delivery in accordance to mutually defined metrics
  • Act as a change agent across Lonza for contingent workforce management transformation and key change projects, leveraging analytics and storytelling to communicate benefits and engage stakeholders

Key requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of market trends and labor regulations related to External workforce management globally
  • A proven track record of demonstrable experience of External Workforce management, including implementation and management of MSP and VMS models
  • Relevant experience on process management for service delivery and supporting technology operations
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong English written / presentation, oral communication and influencing skills tailoring the content and approach to the specific audience
  • Excellent at prioritization and ability to say “no” at times
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with peers, senior stakeholders  and suppliers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
  • Track record of operating independently and delivering results, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus very much on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Action oriented, can make decisions and influence others to do the same

Desirable

  • Good understanding of the procurement implications of External Workforce management, business acumen
  • Experience in Procurement / Category Management is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of HR Integrated Workforce Management
  • Experience in major global organizations, working across cultures and languages
