Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS)

Location: Portsmouth, NH, (On-site)

As an EHS Manager at our Portsmouth site, you will lead and support site safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. You will partner with teams across the site to reduce risk, improve safety performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role combines leadership, hands-on support, and continuous improvement to protect people, operations, and the environment.

This role follows standard 8 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday office hours and requires onsite presence and engagement across operational areas.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain site safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and risk reduction

  • Partner with teams across the site to support safe operations and drive safety culture

  • Lead safety inspections, audits, and regulatory readiness activities

  • Conduct and support risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and changes

  • Deliver safety training and promote awareness across employees and contractors

  • Manage safety data, reporting, and compliance documentation

  • Lead and develop a team of EHS professionals to support site safety performance

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, or a science-related field required

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in EHS, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or a related environment

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA)

  • Experience leading safety programs, audits, and risk assessments

  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels

  • Comfortable working in operational environments, including occasional physical tasks such as walking the site, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting up to 40 lbs
