Become part of this exciting opportunity and join our team by applying for the position as Associate Director, MSAT Upstream (Manufacturing Science and Technology) - Mammalian Large-Scale where your will be responsible for leading a team of upstream experts, supporting process transfer and starting up of new large-scale mammalian facility . In this role, you significantly contribute to the development of the MSAT toolbox and share the manufacturing responsibility as a long-term process owner.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides leadership support to a new large-scale mammalian facility and be part of their extended leadership team.
Provides general supervision and technical guidance to a group of MSAT Experts whose responsibility is process tech transfer, process design and scale-up, facility fit, gap analysis, FMEA risk assessment, process monitoring, troubleshooting and investigation.
Leads cross functional teams tasked with technology transfers to the new facility and timely process implementation at manufacturing scale.
Solves complex upstream process issues that may arise during manufacturing and executing risk analysis for the manufacturing processes.
Communicates effectively with the internal and external stakeholders.
Serves as Upstream Subject Matter Expert when required during internal and external audits.
Develops internal talent for future leadership roles. Manages team performance.
Mentors scientific and production staff in different fields of expertise.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in biotechnology, chemical engineering or related disciplines.
Minimum 12 years working experience in biopharma manufacturing and / or process development preferable in of Mammalian Manufacturing.
Deep understanding of GMP, upstream cell culture process and bioprocess technology.
Strong leadership skills; able to communicate status, needs, forecasts, risks and timelines effectively to management.
Very good communication skills and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within customers and the project organization.
Fluency in English.
