Divestment of Cocoon® Platform

As of April 2, 2026, Lonza has divested the Cocoon® Platform to Octane Medical Group. The transaction includes Lonza’s controlling stake in the platform, associated intellectual property, workforce, and existing customer contracts.

This divestment is part of Lonza’s broader strategic transformation into a pure-play Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) and represents a targeted step to sharpen focus on areas of greatest customer and shareholder value. Returning the Cocoon® Platform to Octane Medical Group, the original developer of the technology, supports continued innovation and growth of the platform.

Powered by the Lonza Engine®, these platforms combine cutting-edge science, smart technology, and lean manufacturing to support the development and manufacture of complex and emerging pharmaceutical modalities.
