The Global HR Business Partner (GHRBP) plays a key role in supporting Specialized Modalities BioScience function, advising senior SPM PLT leader and their leadership team to drive business strategies through OneHR standard work excellence and driving SPM HR initiatives. This includes aligning with One Lonza’s global people strategies to meet business goals.
The role will focus to one critical business area (may include additional) based on needs and leadership location. The role ensures a platform integrated and future-ready organization by leveraging HR services and centers of expertise, including outsourced partners. It leads transformation initiatives, including reorganizations and change management, and partners closely with business leaders to build high-performing teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful, the GHRBP must develop a deep understanding of the Function’s strategy, business and key success factors. With strong leadership and influence skills, the GHRBP will drive change and contribute to business success while ensure SPM Platform strategic direction and fully aligning and contribution to the SPM People agenda . Key Accountabilities
- Develop and execute people strategies aligned with the One Lonza People Strategy and HR platform priorities to drive business performance.
- Provide strategic HR counsel, workforce insights, and data-driven recommendations to support leadership decision-making and growth objectives.
- Partner with senior leaders to align HR initiatives with business strategy and enable sustainable organizational growth.
- Influence and collaborate with executives to drive key people initiatives, secure alignment, and achieve business outcomes.
- Foster a high-performance culture through effective collaboration, communication, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development.
- Champion the OneLonza and OneHR mindset, promoting continuous improvement, cross-functional partnership, and organizational alignment.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices while maintaining compliance with global standards and local regulations.
- Measure and evaluate the impact of HR programs on employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and leadership capability.
- Lead key HR processes, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent management, compensation reviews, employee engagement, HR analytics, and reporting.
- Drive organizational design, culture transformation, succession planning, and capability development to strengthen leadership and business performance.
Key Requirements & Skills
- Extensive HR Business Partner and/or HR Center of Excellence leadership experience, including management of HRBP or COE teams.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading people, developing teams, and driving organizational effectiveness.
- Strong analytical, data-driven, and results-oriented approach, with expertise in HR metrics, KPI development, and workforce analytics.
- Solid knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, and HR best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
- Broad understanding of core HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, compensation, and organizational development.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed global environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and executive presence.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, HR technologies, data analysis tools, and AI-enabled workplace solutions.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, investigation, and employee development capabilities, combined with exceptional customer service, integrity, and stakeholder management skills.

The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $192,000.00 and $265,000.00 Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
