Supervisor, Offline Support, Greenwood, South Carolina (US)
Intern 2010-2011
Temporary worker 2011-2012
Rejoined in 2015

Growing up in Greenwood, SC, Lonza was well known in the local community as a good place to work, so I was really pleased to be offered an internship there in 2010. After my internship, I accepted a temporary position to stay as it was such a great company with amazing people. The temporary role finished in 2012, but I was determined to get back, and I kept looking for another opportunity and that came up in 2015.

Throughout my time at Lonza, I have been afforded the opportunity to hold a number of different roles. That’s one of the great things about Lonza, you can learn new skills and try different roles in order to learn, grow and build a long-term career. In my current role, I manage operational supplies and machine parts for hard capsule manufacturing. This involves managing material master data, determining stock strategies, reviewing performance metrics, and conducting regular inventory checks. We aim to run our capsule machines 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so it is critical the right parts are available at the right time for the engineering, maintenance, and operational teams.

I am a results-oriented person, so I enjoy seeing the impact my role has when implementing a new system, supporting my colleagues in engineering, and ensuring people have what they need to service and run the machines. Alongside the satisfaction of making a difference, what’s incredible about Greenwood is that, despite its size, you feel valued as an individual, not just an employee. What I heard all those years ago is still right today; it is a great place to work.

I see so much opportunity for growth for Lonza, for Capsules and Health Ingredients and for our Greenwood site. I am excited about my future at Lonza and the opportunity to continue enabling people to live healthier lives.
