What excites me about Lonza is that we are re-shaping biologics manufacturing in a world forever changed by the pandemic. I think Lonza really shows the importance of established contract manufacturers for the global biopharma industry.

My own work as a process scientist involves the large machinery needed to convert a small pellet of genetically-modified cells in to a large quantity of a biologic therapeutic. It feels good to know that every bit of effort will culminate in the manufacturing of a therapeutic for people who depend on it!

What I appreciate is the unique way Lonza approaches problems. It is never about one person being a hero – it is about solving problems as a team, and leveraging what each individual brings to the table. Having the opportunity to work with people from different countries and different backgrounds genuinely makes our professional lives more enriched. I appreciate working for a truly global company that takes diversity and inclusion seriously, and not as mere talking points.

I have also benefited from expert mentorship from my managers and senior colleagues, enabling me to improve both my technical and soft skills. In six years, I went from being an associate scientist to leading a team of scientists. I feels good to know that I can now provide the same mentorship that Lonza colleagues provided me in the past! My career progression has definitely kept pace with my aspirations!
