As Head of Shift for Module P, a dedicated Buffer Prep module to manufacture buffers for assets of all platforms in Lonza Visp, you are responsible for leading the production staff, including recruitment, training, qualification and employee
development. You will be leading a team of operators/biotechnologist working
in 4 Shift model, responsible for day-to-day production tasks, in a highly
dynamic and agile working environment, following GMP guidelines. This team
is responsible for the production of Buffer prep for all platforms.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for recruiting, leading, coaching, and developing production
staff (biotechnologists, operators, shift workers) in alignment with the
LONZA vision, culture, and competencies. - Takes ownership for outcomes resulting from choices and behaviors of self
and team. - Accountable for managing and coordinating training activities for operators
in alignment with the Training department at the Visp site. - Prepares workforce forecasts for production staff based on potential plant
utilization and initiates corrective actions if needed, ensuring a lean and
cost-optimized staffing approach. - Coordinates personnel planning and development within the operations
team in collaboration with site management. - You will be part of the management team in the respective area and will
actively contribute to the development of the teams and the facility with
your experience. - Responsible for general operator-related matters and other employee
topics. - Responsible for regular performance reviews and employee feedback, as
well as disciplinary actions when needed. - Perform other duties as assigned
What we’re looking for:
- Berufsabschluss EFZ (CPT oder BICO/CHEMCO) BS / MS in Chemistry, Biotechnology
- At least 5-10 years relevant hands on experience in a GMP production area in pharma or other regulated fields like chemistry, life science, food etc..
- Experience managing a team and ideally experience with working in shifts
- German and English fluent (or at least level B1-B2)
