The QC Analyst II, Electrophoresis, will act as a key team member within the Quality Control (QC) department, specializing in advanced analytical techniques to support the production and stability testing of in-process and final product drug lots for our customers. This is an experienced role requiring high technical proficiency, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to train and mentor junior staff while ensuring high-quality, on-time results to meet Manufacturing demands.
Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Key Accountabilities
Advanced Analytical Testing: Execute a wide range of advanced assays with a high success rate, including CE-SDS, icIEF, PCR, cSDS, and aPTT, in addition to fundamental tests like pH, conductivity, UV-Vis, and reagent preparation.
Instrumentation & Troubleshooting: Proactively maintain and troubleshoot complex laboratory instrumentation, including capillary electrophoresis instruments (PA-800), spectrophotometers (SoloVPE, Cary 60), PCR systems, and other common QC equipment. Escalate issues to SMEs as needed.
Training & Mentorship: Act as a qualified trainer and 'buddy' for new employees, training analysts on advanced assays. Capable of leading tasks and demonstrating expertise to the team.
Documentation & Quality Systems: Serve as a qualified document editor in DMS, identifying and implementing improvements to documentation. Initiate Quality Tag Outs of equipment in Trackwise and support other quality records, including investigations.
Audit Readiness & Improvement: Actively participate in audit readiness by conducting pre-audit walks and maintaining the lab in an 'always audit ready' state. Proactively prepare for campaigns by ensuring reagents, chemicals, and instrument maintenance are completed ahead of time.
Independent Operation & Data Integrity: Complete assigned tasks on time and accurately, capable of identifying and completing needed tasks without direction. Apply strict Data Integrity (DI) principles in all aspects of work, adhering to all policies and guidelines.
Quality Review: Serve as a qualified general reviewer, and capable of reviewing certain advanced assays, contributing to the timely and accurate release of product documentation.
Cross-Functional Communication: Develop strong relationships with outside departments to improve communication, teamwork, and overall process efficiency.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education: An Associate's Degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related fields) is required. A combination of education and years of experience will be considered.
Experience: Relevant experience in a cGMP Quality Control or analytical laboratory, with demonstrated proficiency in Electrophoresis (CE-SDS, icIEF) and other advanced analytical assays.
Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation and act as a qualified trainer and reviewer for core laboratory methods.
Schedule & Compliance: Must be capable of working the Sunday-Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (First Shift) schedule. In-depth understanding and strict adherence to cGMP and GDP are essential.
