The Site Head Stücki is leading the operations of a Drug Product Development Services site, ensuring the seamless execution of pharmaceutical development activities, including formulation, process development, clinical and small scale tox manufacturing (non GMP). This role oversees cross-functional site operations and ensures compliance with global regulatory standards, safety, and quality requirements to support successful Drug Product development from preclinical through to commercialization.
In the role the successful candidate will manage 9 Site Leadership Team Members and through others, lead an organization of up to 500 Employees. The role will be reporting into the Drug Product Services (DPS) Network Lead and will be a standing member of the Operations Integrated Biologics (INB) Network.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership of the Stücki Site, with the Site Leadership team, to deliver base business and growth initiatives in a safe, high quality, and compliant manner that delivers value to the customers and Lonza. With a special focus on setting up the Organization for future success to accelerate Drug Product Services within the DPS Network
Engagement, interaction, and adherence to requirements from Lonza to support expectations for operational performance, report generation/presentation, and alignment of Stücki organization to Lonza’s strategies that are directed.
Build relationships and engage with customers and with Commercial Development to ensure alignment and plan execution is delivered in partnerships developed and maintained between the organizations.
Coaching and development of the Site Leadership Team, ensuring both alignment and growth as a team and individuals, delivering successfully as a business and as professionals.
Engage and communicate with the organization, ensuring the people are informed and engaged, inspiring individuals to achieve the results expected from the Stücki Site in very close alignment with the overall DPS Network (Stein, Visp)
Perform other duties as assigned.
Key requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a life science field such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences
In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, safe work environment leadership, and leadership and development of leadership teams delivering progressive continuous improvement in a multi-layered organization.
Site leadership experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with experience in aseptic processing and/or biologic drug substance delivery. Preference to have progressive experience in both operations and other functions.
Good knowledge of Formulation and Drug Product process development, Drug Product analytical development and quality control
Ability to inspire a large organization by articulating a vision in an exciting manner, develop leaders, and translate strategies developed in to executable and actionable plans.
Ability to lead the organization through leaders who are direct reports. This role is required to inspire and compel excellence in performance from the leadership team, and the Site’s organization through conspicuous and infectious energy and enthusiasm.
The Site Head will be the ultimate face of Lonza to customers, regulators, and the community. The ability to positively connect and build relationships in a manner that these external individuals are excited and inspired about aligning and supporting the strategies and objectives of Lonza
Strong collaborative and excellent communication skills both written and oral in English; German is a strong plus
