Lonza is currently seeking a Solution Architect, SAP MM/WM to join their team in Houston, TX.

POSITION:                 Solution Architect, SAP MM/WM

JOB LOCATION:      14905 Kirby Dr., Houston, Texas 77047 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]

Solution Architect, SAP MM/WM needed by Lonza Houston, Inc.  in Houston, Texas [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to participate in gathering and analyzing business requirements, as well as evaluating legacy system (AS-IS) requirements from business stakeholders, to facilitate supply chain and thirdparty logistics (3PL) systems integration within the scope of SAP implementation and rollout for commercial and manufacturing sites in the pharmaceutical industry. Design holistic end-toend solutions and interfaces across SAP modules, including Materials Management (MM), Inventory Management (IM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Logistics Execution (LE), ensuring seamless integration with external 3PL systems. Plan and oversee the execution of cutover activities. Develop and define interface solutions to connect 3PL systems with SAP, ensuring alignment with country-specific technical and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical sector. Follow established project and program methodologies for implementing system changes. Engage stakeholders by reviewing user requirements, proposing IT solutions, drafting concepts and specifications, leading workshops, and configuring or customizing SAP systems. Draft test scripts, execute functional testing, support business testing, prepare training materials, conduct user training sessions, and manage data migration activities, while adhering to GMP and quality policies. Configure and develop solution designs, system setups, and test cases to enable smooth supply chain workflows between SAP and external systems. Transfer newly developed solutions and related expertise to support teams, delegate routine incidents to IT support, and provide advanced third-level support for complex issues. Handle critical and urgent incidents, address enhancement requests, and implement configuration and programming adjustments in the SAP Materials Management and Logistics Execution domains. Collaborate with teams from infrastructure, process integration, development, authorization, and release management to deliver both standard and custom IT solutions.

Assist super users and end users in resolving SAP Materials Management and Logistics Execution-related challenges, including 3PL interface issues. Prepare and present status reports on ongoing projects and incidents to stakeholders. Configure SAP, prepare specification documents, build interfaces, develop system enhancements, prepare test plans, plan data migration for go-live, and prepare user training documents. Train super users and end users on new functionalities. Provide operational support. Estimate effort required for changes in the areas of SAP Materials Management (SAP - MM), SAP Inventory Management (SAP - IM), SAP Sales and Distribution (SAP SD), SAP Logistics Execution, and warehouse management (SAP LE). Work with onshore and offshore teams. Utilize tools and applications including SAP, SAP Solution Manager, SAP OSS, SAP process integration (SAP PI), Red prairie, pick to light, HP-ALM, Remedy on-demand, and Document Navigator. Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.   

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation applying knowledge of gathering and analyzing business requirements; configuring SAP, preparing specification documents, building interfaces, developing system enhancements, preparing test plans, planning data migration for go-live, and preparing user training documents; training super users and end users on new functionalities; preparing technical and business cutover plans; providing operational support; estimating effort required for changes in the areas of SAP Materials Management (SAP - MM), SAP Inventory Management (SAP - IM), SAP Sales and Distribution (SAP SD), SAP Logistics Execution, and warehouse management (SAP LE); leading the integration of third party logistics (3PL) in SAP for pharmaceutical industries; working with onshore and offshore teams; utilizing tools and applications including SAP, SAP Solution Manager, SAP OSS, SAP process integration (SAP PI), Red prairie, pick to light, HP-ALM, Remedy on-demand, and Document Navigator.
