Lonza Pharma & Biotech is seeking an experienced Sr. Reliability Engineer in their Bend, OR location. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated team working on world-class projects. Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain calibration and maintenance procedures, schedules, and Standard Operating Procedures that define Maintenance Strategy, Reliability Engineering, Preventative Maintenance (PM), and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM).
- Review, assess, and counsel Engineering Teams regarding all areas of maintenance impact on new and modified installations.
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) for new and existing assets.
- Establish Asset Criticality, determine Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO)/Spare Parts requirements, quantities, and order points.
- Apply value analysis to determine repair or replace decisions.
- Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), and Bad Actor Analysis to boost equipment reliability, including supporting corrective design changes and implementing maintenance strategy modifications.
- Provide framework and training to technicians for the predictive maintenance program, including thermography, vibration, and ultrasonic technologies.
- Perform preventative maintenance optimization.
- Analyze equipment failures to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) on process and equipment updates to increase reliability.
- Review new technologies for potential use in growing equipment reliability.
- Request and update capital funding requests to maintain assets in a State of Good Repair.
Key requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. Equivalent experience or education will be considered in place of a Bachelor’s degree. High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- Seasoned engineering work experience.
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement reliability engineering principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
