Job Summary:
The Scientist II contributes to Process Analytical Technology R&D Team goals by planning and executing scientific projects, and by generating and interpreting scientific data from experimental work. This role will directly contribute to the evaluation and implementation of PAT to enable next generation purification processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Able to conceptualize and design laboratory experiments within the scope of R&D team projects
Generates and documents scientific results
Takes responsibility for presenting data as a scientific specialist
Has responsibility for an allocation of work that they plan and organize to meet deadlines in accordance with current policies and guidelines
Write and review documentation, including presentations, protocols, SOP’s and reports, as appropriate to level of experience
Provides on the job training and support for new and less experienced technical and scientific staff
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s is preferred in science-related field
Experience with one or more spectroscopic techniques used in the characterization of proteins
Multivariate data analysis experience
Knowledge of preparative chromatography, ultrafiltration and basic analytical techniques
Evaluation and implementation of process analytical technologies for protein purification applications a plus
A good understanding of process scale-up and commercial manufacturing is preferable
