For our Site Colmar, France | Lonza we are looking for a driven and passionate Scale Up Engineer to join our dynamic team !

This role is based in Colmar. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

What you’ll do:

Investigate innovative settings, defined by R&D, based on pilot scale trials linked to new products and/or equipment development:

  • Apply understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles, to propose and run the required testing to meet the short-term project targets for new products scale up

  • Support planning and execution of scale up trials

  • Propose and adjust test set ups in order to manufacture new products in a pilot or industrial environment

  • Recommend troubleshooting actions to improve safety, quality and productivity during the test phase in industrial environment

  • Suggest new process parameters/equipment developments to progress against project targets using available data and gathered learning

Manage knowledge transfer

  • Support defining training requirements and provision of training material including all EHS and Quality requirements for process engineers, maintenance mechanics and colleagues in utilities

  • Assist the transfer and scale up of new processes and technologies to the manufacturing plants

Work practices

  • Maintain accurate and timely records to appropriate quality standard for self, prepares high quality technical analyses and reports for internal use.

  • Contribute and show good example of continuous improvement initiatives

What we’re looking for:

  • Master or PhD Engineering (Mechanical or Process preferred)

  • Experience in the food industry is preferred

  • Proficient in English and French

  • Effective communicator and collaborator, ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
