As the Global Head QC Microbiology, you will play a central role in molding the future of QC microbiology within our global network. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead critical initiatives, collaborate with top-tier professionals, and contribute to world-class solutions in a dynamic and ambitious environment. You will be accountable for translating the defined global microbiology quality strategy into programs, projects and activities across Lonza, platforms and relevant sites. The role works in close collaboration with the responsible platform and site QC heads as well as respective R&D and Analytical Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic and operational leadership for establishing QC microbiology testing processes and solutions across the Lonza network, in alignment with our Quality Strategy.
• Identify and advance any project risks to ensure timely and successful implementation.
• Supplier Engagement: Identify and secure cooperation with new and strategic suppliers for QC microbiology solutions and services. Conduct market intelligence to stay ahead of future trends and solutions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with IT, Digital QEF, BioScience, R&D, and analytical development teams to ensure smooth technology transfer into QC. Foster positive relationships with other departments to drive continual improvement and information sharing.
• Process Coordination: Coordinate the Lonza QC microbiology testing roadmap, ensuring alignment and realization of cross-platform benefits. Act as the global QC business process owner for selected processes.
• Change Management: Lead change management initiatives, driving adoption of new processes, technologies, and systems. Provide mentorship and support teams during transitions.
• Leadership and Development: Foster a culture of learning, development, and accountability within the Quality function. Serve as a mentor for key talents, ensuring their growth and development.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Microbiology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related life science is required. Equivalent experience in the field is also acceptable.
• Extensive experience in Microbiology Testing, with proven experience in Quality Control as well as in leadership roles.
• Expert knowledge of GxP, ISO Standards, FDA regulatory requirements, and European regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously to successful conclusions.
• Strong knowledge of current industry trends and the latest technologies in microbiology testing.
• Excellent organizational and computer software skills.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build inclusive relationships and manage diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to get results, manage change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
