At Lonza AG, we are seeking a dedicated MES Analyst to join our Engineering team in Houston, TX. This role offers the outstanding opportunity to work with world-class professionals to successfully implement and support our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) integration projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing Lonza operations through technical assistance related to computerized systems for manufacturing process automation.

  • Provide technical support to customers, ensuring systems are crafted and operating to meet production needs.

Operations Support

  • Lead MES or equivalent experience integration projects implementation at the Houston Site.

  • Procure, configure, and qualify computers and equipment related to MES or equivalent experience integrations.

  • Collaborate with customers, MES vendors, and global teams to adapt applications to local needs and document configurations.

  • Serve as the system owner of global and local system interfaces.

  • Author Operational Handbook, User Management, and Disaster Recovery SOPs.

  • Provide on-site support and training to system users.

  • Proactively identify potential issues and establish corrective actions.

  • Offer after-hours support to resolve issues outside normal business hours.

  • Stay updated on new methodologies pertinent to automation information systems and introduce them with minimal direction.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems of growing complexity related to system interfaces.

  • Apply system documentation to tackle sophisticated problems.

  • Contribute to the design of new applications/solutions to integrate MES or equivalent experience with internal and external systems for data transfer.

  • Understand and align with 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.

  • Maintain system integrity, seeking performance and security improvements.

Projects

  • Help plan and complete integration projects involving computerized infrastructure changes and process improvements.

  • Complete test scripts with support and mentorship from supervisors.

  • Own change requests and complete tasks to support project completion.

  • Perform change request assessments to support project completion.

Deviations / Root Cause Analysis

  • Assist the Quality department with deviation investigations.

  • Perform OIS review/approval of deviations.

  • Participate in RCAs as OIS representative.

  • Assist with the completion of CAPA actions.

  • Participate in quality risk assessments.

Documentation

  • Review and revise OIS and Manufacturing-related SOPs, Functional Specifications, and work instructions as a result of CAPA, equipment/process changes, and error prevention activities.

  • Author commissioning protocols (installation, operation, etc.).

  • Review work orders generated by OIS.

  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery procedures.

Training

  • Stay up to date on all assigned training activities including SAP Learning Portal, Compliance Wire, iComply, and QSMRT.

  • Provide training to end users.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science-related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
