Join us in crafting an outstanding employee experience - Lonza AG is seeking a visionary and people-focused leader to serve as Director of Total Rewards for Switzerland & EMEA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of innovative total rewards strategies that support our diverse workforce, cultivate engagement, and drive business success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of Lonza’s total reward strategy within Switzerland, the EMEA region, and global business functions by partnering with Global and Local HRBPs
  • Provide expert advice on compensation strategies, supporting HRBPs in navigating complex people challenges
  • Offer education, support, and communication tools for total rewards initiatives, and mentor HR colleagues and managers on key concepts
  • Advocate for reward aspects, including policy, practices, and program interpretation, and recommend solutions for talent attraction, motivation, reward, and retention
  • Strategically partner with the Global Total Rewards Delivery Team on activities such as annual market benchmarking, salary range development and grading
  • Guarantee adherence to compensation-related regulations, including the Swiss Equal Pay Act and EMEA regulations
  • Lead negotiations with employee representatives and unions on Total Reward topics
  • Represent Total Rewards at the European Workers Council
  • Lead all aspects of Social Plan review and implementation to meet legal requirements and industry standards, assisting in implementation during restructuring.
  • Support on contract and employment agreement maintenance for compensation-related clauses in Switzerland and EMEA
  • Manage Swiss Outplacement Policy to ensure it follows local regulations, aligns with company goals, and stays competitive within the market

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Tax
  • Demonstrable experience in Total Rewards, Benefits, Retirement, or HR, ideally gained both in Consulting as well as in-house roles within multinational organizations
  • Business proficient in English and German
  • Ability to work independently, handle complex reporting relationships, and navigate ambiguity
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities
  • Experience in a matrix-structured organization and a global approach is needed
