Colmar, France | Lonza we are looking for an Analytical and Color Lab Supervisor to coordinate all activities of the HC and DFS analytical control and color lab.

The role is based in Colmar, France. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

Main Responsibilities:  

Management of Analytical and Color QC activities

  • Guarantee the analysis of finished products & raw materials and their regulatory compliance

  • Ensure the smooth running of the color lab and optimizes its operation and performance level

  • Supervise chemical and color analysis & release of HC & DFS raw materials. He is also responsible for DFS microbiological subcontracting

  • Contribute to the development of new products for the HC and DFS business (support site departments (NPD, R&D, Production...), color coding, color stability testing, production test support)

  • Participate in monitoring the budget and operating costs, as well as carrying out investment requests required by the department.

Team Management

  • Supervise scheduling of activities

  • Hierarchical responsibility for the QC chemistry and color team

  • Ensure the development of the team in order to contribute to the department's goals.

Customer & third-party audits

  • Guarantee analytical expertise during customer audits by assisting the Quality Assurance department & draws up the necessary action plans

Projects

  • Participate in various projects within the site, both customer projects and continuous improvement projects.

  • Participate in the implementation and development of global color systems, interfacing with the Group's other color laboratories and proposing/managing harmonization projects to standardize practices at the Colmar site and within the Group.

Main Requirements:

  • Degree in Quality and/or Quality Control / Chemistry / Biology (Master's degree ideally) with proven experience in Quality Control

  • HPLC and Empower3 experience a strong asset

  • Experience in team management

  • Excellent communication and adaptation skills

  • Fluent in English, French an asset
