Key Responsibilities
As an intern, your main tasks will include:
- Material Flow Optimization:
- Improve the return flow of materials (e.g., expired items, additional requests).
- Identify and address delays caused by discrepancies in cold storage areas (2–8°C and –20°C).
- Investigate materials that remain in storage racks unnecessarily long, including replenished items.
- Support efforts to reduce expired materials and apply FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles.
- Inventory and Suite Management:
- Conduct monthly stocktaking activities.
- Monitor and manage raw material availability and placement in the suite.
- Ensure proper Weighing & Dispensing (W&D) procedures are followed.
- Increase awareness and provide training for operators on best practices in material handling.
- Support accurate inventory tracking and storage condition compliance.
- System Use & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Operate within our SAP (ERP) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) platforms for material tracking and documentation.
- Act as an interface between the logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth coordination and communication.
- Process Improvement:
- Apply the Lonza Business Management System (LBMS) methodology and principles , including:
- Problem solving and root cause analysis
- Waste reduction
- Process standardization and continuous improvement

Requirements
- Student or recent graduate in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Interest in process optimization and materials management
- Proactive mindset and willingness to learn
- Basic knowledge of SAP/MES is a plus (training will be provided)
