Lonza’s Capsules & Health Ingredients business is the trusted partner for innovative products, including capsules and health ingredients, customization services and end-to-end dosage form solutions for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies.
We are looking to strengthen our global R&D Hard Capsules group in charge of developing new and optimizing existing products with a team lead based at our site in Suzhou, China. The post offers a very multidisciplinary, cross-functional and dynamic working environment and requires proven expertise in one or more of the following areas: polymer science, chemical engineering, food/pharma science/technology, dip-molding processes and similar. and.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Leading a team with scientific background as part of the global Hard Capsules R&D,
- Coordinating the daily activities of scientists and/or technicians in line with the project milestones and timelines
- Managing lab needs in agreement with the Hard Capsules R&D Head
- Investigate innovative opportunities by understanding the market/customers/manufacturing needs, evaluating the technical feasibility and leveraging on the global CHI R&D to bring the concept to life
- Managing knowledge transfer by acting as a link between the regional and the global R&D. Document, report and propose actions for the region-specific needs to the global R&D and support implementation of innovative/standardized concepts into the region
- Act as technical R&D lead in complex, strategic, innovation or customer specific projects. Intervene as the Subject Matter Expert within and outside the R&D team.
Requirements:
- PhD or MSc. with substantial relevant experience and demonstrated track record of successfully delivering projects or critical project components within relevant area of expertise independently
- Advanced knowledge in the area of soft materials (polymers, emulsions, dispersions), food or pharma sciences and relevant laboratory techniques and equipment
- People management skills
- Strong communication skills in English and local language internal and/or external stakeholders
- Capable to develop more complex scientific concepts and application to practical problems/issues
