Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.
As we build our new biotechnological production plant in Visp, we’re looking for a motivated and resilient Team Lead Operations to help lead our vaccine production efforts. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and make a real difference, we invite you to join our team.
As a Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our production efforts by leading and supporting your team through both the project phase and routine production!
What you’ll do:
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, assess, and coach a diverse team, providing the guidance they need to thrive. You’ll support employee growth through performance reviews, regular feedback, and development plans.
Production Oversight: Manage daily operations within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll set priorities, allocate resources, and work collaboratively to ensure that production targets and quality standards are met.
Problem Solving & Process Improvement: Investigate production deviations and contribute to continuous improvement projects. You’ll be responsible for recognizing and correcting issues, ensuring compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other team leaders and departments to optimize efficiency, streamline processes, and share best practices. Your role as a key interface between management and production will drive long-term success.
Administrative Excellence: Oversee shift handovers, manage inspections, and ensure that training plans are created and implemented on time.
What we’re looking for:
Several years of experience in a leadership role within biotechnological production, such as a shift team leader, deputy, or system specialist.
A deep understanding of production processes in a large-scale environment, with expertise in all process steps and systems.
Experience with manufacturing plants and coordinating complex work processes and resources.
Strong knowledge of process engineering principles and practices.
Fluency in English, with German language skills being a plus.
A structured, organized approach to work, with the ability to be assertive, flexible, and resilient in a fast-moving environment.
Willingness to work in a 4-shift system.
Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.
