South Plainfield, NJ (USA), 17 April 2018 – Lonza has named Alexandra D'Arcangelis, PhD, as Skin Biology Lead for Lonza's Consumer Product Ingredients division.
Based in South Plainfield, NJ (USA), Dr. D'Arcangelis will work to bolster in-house capabilities for evaluating bioactives and other personal care ingredients. She will also facilitate in vitro and in vivo testing that Lonza conducts with its external partners.
Prior to joining Lonza in February 2018, Dr. D'Arcangelis served two years as R&D director for Beauty Manufacturing Solutions, a personal care and cosmetics contract manufacturer in Dallas, TX (USA). She has held various R&D roles at Chanel and Unilever with a focus on skin care applications.
Dr. D'Arcangelis earned her PhD in Biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD (USA) and held post-doctoral roles with DuPont Pharmaceuticals and the Kimmel Cancer Institute in Philadelphia, PA (USA). She earned Bachelor's degrees in chemistry and history from the University of California, Berkeley, CA (USA).
