Stefan Verseck Joins Lonza as Technology Scout and Biotechnology Expert


South Plainfield, NJ (USA), 17 April 2018 – Stefan Verseck, PhD, has joined Lonza’s Consumer Product Ingredients (CPI) organization as Technology Scout and Biotechnology Expert for the Personal Care, Hygiene and Preservation businesses.

Based in Cologne (DE), Dr. Verseck will lead all efforts to identify innovative technologies to accelerate new product development. In addition, he will support and strengthen Lonza’s existing CPI product portfolio by identifying novel applications and creating synergies with newly identified technologies.

Prior to joining Lonza this month, Dr. Verseck served six years as the head of Lipid Biotechnology for BASF Personal Care and Nutrition GmbH. He has held various R&D and Biotechnology roles at Cognis GmbH and Degussa AG/Evonik Degussa GmbH.

Dr. Verseck earned his PhD in Expression of Microbial Enzymes from the University of Wuppertal (DE), a Master’s degree in Biology from Westfälische Wilhelms University (DE), and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University (DE). Throughout his career he has contributed to a number of publications in renowned international journals.
