Lonza Tampa is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team!

POSITION:                 Senior Accountant

JOB LOCATION:      4910 Savarese Circle, Tampa, FL 33634

DUTIES: Maintain financial systems and manage staffing to ensure completeness of statutory and corporate reporting, adherence to internal controls and compliance with accounting standards. Maintain legal entity financial statements in accordance with IFRS, US GAAP and UK GAAP standards. Supervise accountants and trainee accountants to maintain accuracy and compliance in cost centers and product costs. Maintain accuracy of reported sales. Maintain statutory reporting of direct and in-direct taxes. Provide analysis, reporting, and SAP support to management and other functional areas as needed. Support annual budget preparation and analyze related variances as needed. Support independent financial review by external and internal auditors. Establish and ensure compliance with the monthly financial close calendar. Prepare and review general journal entries and standard reconciliations including coordination of offsite payroll calculations. Oversee cash activities and bank accounts. Maintain accuracy of fixed assets and related depreciation as well as inventories including materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Maintain the financial support of two Lonza locations including Tampa (US) and Burton (UK). Adhere to all defined safety and sustainability requirements and expectations and seek clarification whenever safety and sustainability requirements and expectations are either unknown or unclear. Report identified safety and sustainability issues, problems, deficiencies, errors, incidents, and/or opportunities to management and correct where possible. Utilize the following technology and software: SAP, Business Warehouse Reporting Tool, SAC Analytics Tool, QuickBooks, MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Word and Excel, HFM consolidation tool, Hyperion SmartView, BWISE internal control system. Use SAP in a manufacturing industry and inter-relationship of multiple SAP modules: Finance/Controlling/Plant Maintenance/Purchasing/Supply Chain and Logistics. Implement SAP functionality into sites not currently using SAP, including extensive user training. Use standard cost systems, interpreting and resolving variances as needed. Manage other daily processes including purchasing, invoicing, receivables, journal entries, fixed assets, customer projects (WBS elements), bank reconciliations, and foreign currency transactions. Maintain a company's overall system of accounts, books and records on all company transactions and assets, ensuring compliance with monthly close deadlines, completion of standard journal entries and G/L account reconciliations. Work closely with external and internal auditors as needed. Ensure adherence to accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and internal control systems. Perform coordination and review of payroll calculations. Amass the necessary resources to meet all deadlines and initiatives. Oversees one (1) Project Coordinator.    

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, or five (5) years of experience in a related occupation using SAP in a manufacturing industry and inter-relationship of multiple SAP modules: Finance/Controlling/Plant Maintenance/Purchasing/Supply Chain and Logistics; implementing SAP functionality into sites not currently using SAP, including extensive user training; using standard cost systems, interpreting and resolving variances as needed; managing other daily processes including purchasing, invoicing, receivables, journal entries, fixed assets, customer projects (WBS elements), bank reconciliations, and foreign currency transactions; maintaining a company's overall system of accounts, books and records on all company transactions and assets, ensuring compliance with monthly close deadlines,  completion of standard journal entries and G/L account reconciliations; working closely with external and internal auditors as needed; ensuring adherence to accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and internal control systems; performing coordination and review of payroll calculations; amassing the necessary resources to meet all deadlines and initiatives; and utilizing the following technology and software: SAP, Business Warehouse Reporting Tool, SAC Analytics Tool, QuickBooks, MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Word and Excel, HFM consolidation tool, Hyperion SmartView, BWISE internal control system.
