Following our agreement with Roche to acquire the Vacaville manufacturing facility, we are now looking to recruit an IT CoE Lab Systems Lead for the Vacaville site!
The IT CoE Lab Systems Lead will be responsible for leadership and ownership of GxP IT Lab Systems. This role is globally accountable for all plan, build and run aspects of IT / OT systems used in quality labs for quality assurance purposes. The position combines in depth technical knowledge of Information Systems with analytical thinking, business process insight, and best practices implementation and operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Fulfills the role of IT Business Partner by collaborating with and providing a service to Business Process Owners to ensure alignment of process and Technologies.
Owns global systems and oversees their implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle across the network with design authority. Proactively identifies opportunities to deliver innovative solutions to customer issues/challenges and situations where cutting edge technology can be deployed to business advantage.
Identifies and defines business cases that support the implementation of Laboratory Systems (including Labware LIMS, SoftMaxPro, Empower, PLA, and WinkQCL) by highlighting and communicating initiatives, opportunities and solutions that cover current or potential applications/technology at the manufacturing sites.
Responsible to support, define and deliver the interfaces between business-critical applications in the portfolio, liaising with other Lonza departments and business stakeholders.
Leads the definition of functional requirements for systems and interfaces in the area of responsibility.
Ensures compliance with the Lonza Validation Master Plan and all relevant local, global, industry and regulatory policies and guidelines.
Contributes to the evolution and implementation of the Lonza roadmap for applications, operations, and services in the portfolio.
Responsible for creating and running operational models to support business customer initiatives and technical solutions in accordance with the Lonza IT roadmap.
Leads a multi-disciplinary project team for the execution of digital capital customer projects. Based on Contract/Amendment project scope, this includes the responsibility and accountability for project initiation, planning, execution/implementation, controlling (including costs), monitoring and closeout.
Is the primary interface with the Customer for day-to-day project execution in accordance with an approved Project Plan (includes tasking, task owners, dependencies, timelines and cost). This includes were applicable: resolution of issues and atypical events; review/approval of documentation, change controls, deviations, communication etc.
Stays up to date with external best practices and the latest process and technology advancements in the field and uses this knowledge to develop and maintain role capability.

Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science
Master's degree in business administration preferred
IT Solution Specialist Certification required
PMP preferred
Advanced experience in IT applications and/or infrastructure roles
Settled knowledge in Lab and QA systems such as Labware LIMS CDS, EWB, Moda EM, WINKQCL, PLA, SoftMax Pro, and/or similar systems in a GxP environment
Business partnering and Communication skills
Service Management expertise
Ability to foresee possible issues and troubleshoot them proactively
Ability to negotiate externally and internally at higher levels
Not afraid to try new and innovative ways of solving problems
Develops good short- and long-term plans
Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Analytical Skills
This position is contingent upon Lonza’s successful completion of the acquisition of the site located in Vacaville, California (the “Closing”), currently anticipated to occur in H2, 2024. If the Closing is delayed for any reason, Lonza may delay the start date up to sixty (60) days.

The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $151,200.00 and $176,400.00. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
