The EHS Specialist (m/f/d) is driving the successful implementation and optimization of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety (EHS) programs jointly with the assigned manufacturing & laboratory facilities. He is the first contact person for all EHS aspects for our growth project and enables the business to start up the facility and operate in a safe and sustainable environment. In addition, the EHS Manager will  further develop our safety culture on site

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as point of contact for EHS topics and supports the allocated operational unit in achieving compliance with EHS regulations

  • Support CQV activities

  • Act as representative of site EHS for investment projects.

  • Perform EHS assessment and approval of Technical Change Requests (TCRs)

  • Provide support for EHS risk assessments.

  • Participates in and provides subject matter expertise during Safety Gemba Walks, audits and other walkthroughs

  • Conduct trainings on EHS topics as laid out in the overall site EHS training strategy

  • Support the development of a strong and unified EHS culture on site

  • Assist audits from internal and external stakeholders

Key requirements:

  • University degree in natural science (preferably microbiology, chemistry, biology) or related technical degree (e.g. process engineering)

  • Significant working experience in chemical or biological production

  • Swiss safety specialist certificate (ASGS) or comparable EHS expertise.

  • Safety engineer (EKAS) is a plus

  • In depth knowledge of swiss safety regulations

  • Process understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing and general knowledge about pharmaceutical process technology

  • Fluency in English and German
