EHS Design Project Manager (m/f/d)

The EHS Design Project Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for the implementation of the EHS Requirement as per Lonza Policy and procedures in the design of CAPEX projects. He/She ensures the review of safety impact of the projects from the feasibility study to detailed design and implement Lonza EHS procedures on the SGIE project (EHS Design Manual)
Key responsibilities:
Contact person between the SGIE project, project members, and Site EHS Visp/EHS project ambassador.
Ensures technical support for EHS aspects and ensure all EHS Lonza requirement are integrated in the design of SGIE projects
Coordinate, collect and ensure implementation of inputs of Visp EHS Team
Support project manager during the design phasis on EHS Specific topics (Hazop, Process safety, safety legal compliance, planning approval )
Supports/supervises project team members on EHS issues with his/her expertise.
Provide guidance and act as partner for SGIE and EPCM partners for all associates and stakeholders regarding occupational safety topics.
Implement the strategies for SGIE to meet company safety goals.
Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations, national, international and Lonza standards for SGIE construction sites.
Provide functional leadership to all SGIE Project Managers and their EHS teams
Key requirements:
Safety engineer or similar with Engineering degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering or equivalent
Safety engineer according to SUVA regulation
10yrs+ experience in Pharmaceutical Engineering Construction industry, ideally Bio- or pharmaceutical Industry
Experience in leading teams and in design safety
Proven process understanding of design safety and legal safety demands in the pharmaceutical environment or similar.
Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong presentation skills for developing and delivering training to elevate knowledge, skills and behaviors at multiple levels of the organization.
Dealing with high level of ambiguity using coaching skills
Business fluent in English – other languages beneficial
