The data science team in mammalian development services at Lonza is looking for a highly motivated intern that understands and is passionate about her/his craft. This internship is focused on implementing new architectures for operational data management and handling. What you will be doing:
Data Pipeline Development: Collaborate with the team to design and build data pipelines that efficiently extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Azure-based data storage and analytics platforms.
Azure Services Utilization: Gain hands-on experience with a range of Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Storage to develop scalable and reliable data solutions.
Data Transformation: Assist in transforming raw data into meaningful insights by implementing data transformations, data cleansing, aggregation, and enrichment processes.
Data Modeling: Participate in data modeling activities, including designing and implementing logical and physical data models that align with business requirements and best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with a team of world class bioprocess scientists and data experts to turn data into actionable insights.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Basic understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and databases.
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and Microsoft Azure services is a plus.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Scala.
Interested in understanding the context of Bioprocessing data generation.
Proactive.
