Associate Director, Project Controls Manager

Lonza is seeking an Associate Director, Project Controls Manager with the relevant experience to support the SGIE Capital Projects for Lonza’s new facilities and infrastructure in Visp, Switzerland. This position will be directly responsible for Project Controlling and overseeing the costs, planning and risk management reporting of the various Projects through all project stages.
Key responsibilities:
Support the SGIE Bio I Delivery Lead and his Project Managers on all project controls matters through final initiation, execution and close out phases of various projects
Manage and support 6-8 team members to ensure proper scheduling, cost estimation, cost control, risk management and project controls tools & processes are in place
Regular overall consolidation of commercial reporting of the CAPEX projects within the Visp Bio I portfolio (e.g. Scope, Spend, Cost & Schedule, Risk, Forecasting, etc.)
Be the diplomatic lead to larger groups of cross functional project team members, gaining consensus and garnering support for the path forward on commercial topics.
Proactively manage and coordinate the Planning and Controlling (SMORF & Target) for regional SGIE Capex Portfolio
Key requirements:
Bachelor or Master in Engineering, Science or similar discipline
10-15 years of experience in planning/cost control for large (> 100 Mio CHF) projects to ensure that schedule and costs are accurately controlled and proactively managed. Preferable to also have experience in overall commercial management of a large scale projects.
Language: Excellent command of English, German language skills are highly advantageous.
Strong analytical skills. Ability to conduct analysis of complex/large data sets, draw conclusions accordingly, and prepare and support decisions.
Demonstrated history of applying “best practices” and achieving results in the areas of project cost and schedule, and linking these to risk management
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
