Associate Director (m/f/d) Global Automation and MES

The Associate Director (m/f/d) Global Automation and MES is responsible for designing, development and rollout of MES standards, actionable execution plans, providing technical leadership and direct support in execution and delivery of MES aspects of large Capital projects or separate initiatives globally for the areas where Lonza is using Sycade MES operations networks, including adherence to schedule and budgets, engineering design of new facilities and leadership of cross functional teams consisting of Internal Lonza customers such as Manufacturing, MSAT, and Quality Assurance to properly identify design needs.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for Delivery of MES scope under CAPEX projects involving scope, cost and schedule management.
Design, development and rollout of MES standards that maximize the value from the use of our MES solutions leveraging Emerson Syncade.
Responsible for providing technical leadership and direct support but as well project management in the execution and delivery of large Capital projects within Lonza or technology initiatives in the field of MES. This is including validation, documentation and hand-over activities in accordance with Lonza procedures.
Leadership and coordination of cross functional teams consisting of Internal Lonza customers such as Manufacturing, MSAT, and Quality Assurance to properly identify design needs.
Keep abreast of technical developments that may have application in the Pharma / biotech industry and promote the use of those that provide strategic business benefits.
Develop and continuous improvement of technical global standard for electronic batch recording.
Contribute for the execution of the MES roadmap and global deployment of the Lonza Target Architecture standards across sites.
Key requirements:
Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or similar with at least 10+ years of relevant experience in MES (Syncade and/or DeltaV) and CAPEX Automation projects
Deep knowledge of Biotech and Pharma industry automation projects
High motivation, highly independent workstyle, driven personality, decisiveness
Challenging the status quo and looking for opportunities to make improvements
Execution and project delivery expertise
Leadership experience for cross functional matrix teams (10+ people)
Fluent English – German is a plus
