Senior scientific manager (f/m/d)

In our site Haifa, Israel | Lonza, we are currently looking for an experienced senior scientific manager (f/m/d): Innovative and result-oriented senior R&D group leader reporting into the Department Head with strong molecular biology and gene editing expertise.
Responsibility for management and growth of a team of 6 + scientists and leading technology or process/product development projects with significant commercial and/or scientific impact to successful and timely delivery.
Support development of and drive execution of Lonza's innovation strategy while leveraging strong network/expertise.
Provide cross-discipline scientific leadership to R&D teams and expand Lonza presence and research profile externally.
Effectively communicate and drive activities within projects and report out. Visibly drive and show desire for making change through the execution of projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide development and scientific guidance to team to foster employee's commitment and performance.
- Provide clarity of tasks, motivation and support to team to continuously improve and develop
- Ensure work environment and working conditions are appropriate for optimal performance and for achieving results and if improvements or streamlining is needed, develop and implement solutions
- Design and successful delivery of R&D projects (incl. collaborations) with impact in the range of 20-100Mio NPV or equivalent strategic value or business impact.
- Proactively drives project decision making through timely and appropriate communication across levels
- Presents projects to internal stakeholders and at external conferences.
- Proactively identifies innovation opportunities and proprietary solutions that expand or significantly improve and differentiate Lonza's offering
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key requirements:
- PHD in molecular biology/ biotechnology or similar
- Industry in management experience is a must
- Strong innovation drive
- Proactively drives project decision making through timely and appropriate communication across levels
- Proactively identifies innovation opportunities and proprietary solutions that expand or significantly improve and differentiate Lonza's offering
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent English proficiency
