This Intern position combines in-depth training and skills development with exposure to various aspects of Lonza’s Global Strategic Growth Initiatives & Engineering (SGIE) Unit and the SGIE Centers of Excellence (COE). The Intern is responsible to support the execution of COE key initiatives, the implementation of process improvement programs, overall program management (PMO)
During 6 months the Intern will gain a broad perspective within SGIE. The assignment of responsibilities and projects depends on current business needs and on the Trainee’s skills and interests as well as potential thesis topics
Key responsibilities:
- Support preparation of the SGIE reporting (collection of information, data analysis, graphical visualization, follow-up actions)
- Support ongoing COE improvement programs (implementation & tracking)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, simplification and automation. Drive “share & reapply” of best practices.
- Support organization of internal workshops and communications (agendas, meeting minutes, action lists, etc); support engagement & collaboration initiatives
- Support the COE Lead Team Members for ad hoc requests
- Cooperate closely with business partners from other corporate functions or stakeholders in several areas of Project management in a collaborative setting
Key requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or Master in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management or related discipline. Possibility to write Bachelor Or Master thesis on relevant topic to Lonza as part of internship
- Fluent in English
- Very good knowledge in IT tools, especially MS Office Excel, Word, PPP (project management tools as MS project/Primavera P6/Planview a plus);
- Self-motivated individual with ability to solve problems, understanding details and strategic picture, providing practical solutions. Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Good influencing skills. Ability to communicate to varying levels and functions of the organization. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Persistent.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
- Open to execute administrative tasks
