The Product Sales Specialist provides field technical support for Cell Biology and Transfection product groups. Is a key contributor in driving large projects together with team members and growth opportunities towards a multi-K Euro business  Develop new processes and tools to support the commercial teams, and drive the continuous improvement of the status quo.

Gathers and communicates information on market trends and applications, as well as competitive activities.  Works in conjunction with Field and Inside Sales in Discovery and CGT Segments to support the acquisition and expansion of median and high value opportunities and accounts.

Manages large Cell Biology and Transfection of low and median opportunity volume accounts within their territory and beyond their local area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provides high level technical and application support for Lonza Cell Biology and Transfection products.  Develops value propositions befitting of our target customers’ needs.
  • Supports the Strategic Accounts and Business Development team in the solution proposal and adoption stages of the sales process.  Understands the customer’s specific application and/or needs to propose the best Lonza solution on a European and global level
  • Own the end-to-end planning and implementation of strategic cross-functional projects, while managing and developing relationships with different stakeholders across departments and countries.
  • Understands the customer’s position in the discovery/research workflow and supports the Strategic Accounts and Business Development team in expanding business within current accounts by identifying cross-selling and next-sale opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Accounts and Business Development. Working and managing stakeholders from different functions & business groups across countries
  • Supports prospecting of new customers and accounts by identifying new median and high value opportunities in their territory and beyond
  • Potentially lead junior members of the international Business Development team
  • Collects and informs the organization on its own about market information including competitive promotions, contract prices, new products, new applications and customer needs.
  • Manages T&E budget, telephone and consumables budgets.  Submits Expenses reports on a monthly basis.
  • Possess the ability to work autonomously from a home-based office as well as contribute to overall team performance.

What we need you to have:

  • BSc in Life Sciences
  • Hands on Industry experience within a Business Development environment, previous experience within Remote sales an advantage.
  • Previous experience/understanding of Quality Control, Laboratory Testing and or Microbiology a strong advantage
  • Working understanding of Lab based automation systems.
  • Fluency in English a must, a second European language would be preferable.
