As member of Biologics Operations Leadership Team in Visp, Switzerland | Lonza, the Head of Automation Biologics Visp (Open) has primary responsibility to deliver a robust and sustainable DCS/MES platform for an optimal operational electronic batch record. Main objective is to harmonize and simplify the electronic batch records to support a review by exception and allow a fast cycle time for batch record review leading to an improvement batch release cycle time. This role will also support the Value Streams across the Biologics business in Visp and will be responsible for creating a community of practice and repository.

Key responsibilities:
Translate operational strategic needs linked to above responsibilities into project execution timelines or base business cycle times building synergies, harmonization and standardization between projects or base business crossfunctionally when needed in collaboration with Visp Biologics extended leadership teams
Harmonize and standardize DCS/MES platform for Visp Biologics to ensure common platform for all technologies using eBR
Responsible for creating Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) in collaboration with Operations Value Streams and centralizing code to validation testing based on Lonza standards (Quality & Engineering) and GMPs
Establish the associated governance and decision-making process to ensure quality, speed and efficiency of deliveries.
Build very strong stakeholder management with Bio Visp Ops extended leadership team and Value Stream heads, program managers (PMs) within the commercial business units (BU) and project champions, as well as Growth Project leads o Supporting regulatory inspection as needed to ensure licensing of facilities and/or products
Key requirements:
Bachelor or Master degree (preferred) in a Science / Engineering related field such as Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent
10 year experience in automation for related manufacturing activities
In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, GMP and safe work environment leadership, delivery of RFT, and leadership and development of leadership teams delivering to targets in a multi-layered organization.
Lean practitioner and Master/Black Belt Certification will be an advantage
Ability to inspire a large organization by articulating a vision in an exciting manner, develop leaders, and translate strategies developed in to executable and actionable plans. Strong business understanding.
Strong Leadership and Stakeholder management skills
Excellent communication skills and interaction with all kinds of internal and external interfaces
Fluency in English, German will be an asset
