Lonza Walkersville is IMMEDIATELY hiring an Electrical Systems Technician to be responsible for installing, maintaining (preventative maintenance), troubleshooting and repairing production and utility electrical equipment.  The Electrical Systems Technician is also responsible for repairing, maintaining and improving the process areas, production equipment and electrical systems to ensure proper operation.

This position is located at our Walkersville site.  The work schedule is 4 - 10’s Monday – Friday (M W or F off, no weekends.  Rotation – on call once every 13 weeks.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ability to understand National Electrical Code and implement the rules in your repair and installation of electrical systems and equipment. Also, should be able to review work of others against NEC.
  • Completes routine request work orders and Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders
  • PM of all Electrical Systems including fire, security, power management, and power distribution.
  • Review/revise system SOP’s, functional specifications, and work instructions, as a result of CAPA, equipment/process changes, error prevention activities, etc.
  • Helps scope plant improvement projects including electrical distribution, control systems, security, fire alarm, and HVAC
  • Installation and repair of lighting, HVAC, single and 3 phase motors, VFD’s, instrumentation, valve actuation, fire alarm, and security
  • Ability to design and install a control circuit for various uses.

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical systems maintenance and repair, extensive experience in lock out/tag out procedures, preferred
  • Must have significant working knowledge of electrical circuits and their maintenance and construction; is current on all electrical codes that apply to our site.
  • SAP experience, preferred
  • Licensed Electrician, preferred
  • Must be skilled at documentation in a cGMP environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating systems
  • Team player with exceptional customer service skills. 
  • Ability to think critically and logically, to analyze situations and develop solutions to problems in a timely manner.
