This role will lead the Operations network of Lonza’s CGT assets and sites in order to achieve business unit and corporate goals. Improve individual site performances to lift them to a world-class manufacturing organization. Create and maintain a competitive edge by manufacturing and supplying Lonza CGT products of high quality and value, in a timely manner to customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring a culture of safety and compliance while driving highest possible delivery and cost performance
  • Develops and implements site specific strategies based on the overall global CGT strategy
  • Manages resource allocation (including asset, COGS, headcount, etc) to meet overall objectives
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives in line with overall targets
  • Hires and develops top talent to create high performing teams and create top succession pipeline for the entire organization
  • Holds sites accountable for adhering to highest quality standards
  • Ensures the manufacturing organization works closely with the Quality function to deliver high-quality product within the established standards and KPIs
  • Develop site master plans, to ensure capacity matches growing demand
  • Works in close cooperation with commercial operations and delivers quality products on time every time
  • Lead operations functions for the global BU covering MSAT Technical Team, Operations Strategic Projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or similar school of study
  • MBA preferred
  • Highly experienced in an operations management position in the life sciences industry
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Proven track record as successful operational leader with responsibility over many key functions including financial deliverables
  • Multisite experience
  • Global experience preferred
  • Successful track record with health authorities
  • Experience in managing complex multi-functional teams in a multinational business environment
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment
  • Able to work successfully in a matrix-team structure
  • Strong and proven leadership capabilities
