Lonza in Visp is looking for a Trainee (m/f/d) for Automation Engineeri within our SGIE organization (Strategic Growth and Investment Engineering). The Trainee works in an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) project team to support in the field of process and building automation in the current capital projects in Visp.
You will actively participate in system automation, qualification, start-up, and on-going operation for hardware, system software & application software. Automation systems to be supported include custom Delta V distributed control systems (DCS) as well as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and supervisory control & data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
During two years the Trainee will gain a broad perspective within SGIE. The assignment of responsibilities and projects depends on current business needs and on the Trainee’s skills and interests.
Key responsibilities:
Participate in the EI&C engineering of current capital projects
Engineering team of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Preparing regulatory filing input to cGMP documentation
Identify, recommend and implement “system” improvements in design, documentation, training, and parts procurement.
Scope development and basis of design
Vendor selection
System and field device evaluation and test
Key requirements:
Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent in electrical -, automation or process engineering
Electrical and/or Automation engineering skills
Wish to develop this knowledge in the EI&C fields
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Fluency in German and English is required
