Role Summary

The EHS Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in maintaining the Site environmental, health and safety programmes. The incumbent will have a comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of safety, health and environmental legislation and best practice. Possessing broad knowledge in their assigned areas they will work on complex issues in order to deliver solutions that support the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop Site EHS programmes to meet regulatory compliance, prevent injuries and protect the environment
  • Work with Site employees and contractors to understand and achieve the objectives of the Site EHS programs
  • Develop projects and lead teams to achieve improvements in Site EHS performance.
  • Collect and maintain data and records for EHS compliance and reporting.
  • Conduct and coordinate EHS inspections and audits including internal inspections, corporate, regulatory and customer audits.
  • Participate and lead EHS risk assessments for new operations, equipment and process changes. Work to resolve all EHS concerns.
  • Prepare and deliver EHS training and education to employees and contractors working at the Site

Key requirements:

  • Ideally possess a minimum 10 years experience in a similar role with a proven track record of managing strong EHS programmes
  • Expertise in Construction Fire Safety and Emergency Management would be highly desirable
  • Previous experience in a cGMP environment, or at least within a highly regulated environment
  • Minimum NEBOSH Diploma
  • IEMA (Desirable)
  • In depth knowledge of UK/EU requirements and regulations
  • Team player with exceptional customer service skills, integrity and ability to interact with all levels of personnel
  • Please note that the role will require availability for out of hours cover for alternative months
