As Senior Sustainability Project Engineer you are responsible to lead, drive and support on sustainability projects and topics to drive forward the Biologics Visp organization in the context of environmental sustainability in line with the overriding Lonza Global strategy.

You will support the definition and implementation plan of the Environmental Sustainability strategy and program in the Biologics Visp Organization and track the implementation success.

You will need to collaborate with multiple levels of the organization and influence senior stakeholders in Procurement, Operations and Sustainability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and support the sustainability roadmap for Biologics Visp to meet sustainability goals.

  • Handling sustainability concepts, programs and issues in close cooperation with the respective EHS functions Visp.

  • Developing strategies to drive environmental culture and engagement opportunities for associates.

  • Create and implement environmental standards for Biologics Visp in close cooperation with the respective .functions .

  • Identify opportunities for sustainability initiatives and lead or participate in sustainability initiatives and technical projects.

  • Create or maintain plans or other documents related to sustainability projects.

Qualifications and skills required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (University for Applied Science, Technical University). Preferred area of study: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical- or Biological Process Engineering.

  • Recognized expert in the area of Engineering & Maintenance for biopharma production units.

  • Expertise in business and sustainability processes

  • Strong team orientation, comminication and team playing skills

  • Open-minded for new ideas and suggestions.

  • Structured, focused and well-organized working attitude

  • Advanced written and oral communication skills in German and English
