Lonza is looking for a Head of Finance Global Operations Biologics. In this role you are the Business Partner for the Global Head of Operations Biologics and responsible for global financial coordination of the Biologics network; covering global initiatives (e.g. inventory, operational excellence, supply chain, standardization) and overseeing local finance activities (e.g. closing, variance analysis, standard site reporting).

You will be managing a global team of more than 25 FTE direct and indirect in several locations; covering all modalities (Mammalian, Microbial, BioConjugation, mRNA, DPS) in Biologics.

Key responsibilities:

  • Steering Partner: To discuss, debate, challenge, and jointly set with the Operations and Division Leadership Teams, the operational performance trajectory across the BUs.

  • Business Partner: analysis and decision support in the area of efficiency, financial analysis for production, supply contracts, modeling, benchmarking, project evaluations, costing, performance measures, strategic planning

  • Financial planning / reporting: Responsible for development and submission of Financial & Business Plans for the sites and network, including all required actual and plan reporting, analyses and metrics such as long term planning (BSR), annual budget, outlooks and forecasts, monthly closing reporting, variance and analysis reporting.

  • Investment planning (business and maintenance CapEx): Supports CAPEX evaluations and local execution of the programs. Supports due diligences and business integration;

  • Compliance: Shares global responsibility for BU financial and management accounting in accordance with IFRS, the Lonza Finance Accounting Manual (FAM), the Lonza Management Accounting Manual (MAM) and other required accounting principles

Key requirements:

  • MBA degree or equivalent required; ACCA or CIMA preferred

  • Highly experienced in a large multi-national manufacturing environment preferably in a Biotech/Pharma company

  • Knowledge of accounting concepts and regulations

  • Cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting in a manufacturing organization

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to interpret and explain financial information and projections

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
