Lonza is looking for a Manager External Reporting & Consolidation. This role is an integral part of the Consolidation and External Reporting team that is responsible for the global consolidation and external financial reporting of the Lonza Group. This position plays an essential role in supporting the monthly, semi-annual and annual financial statement close and consolidation process, delivering consolidated financial statements to senior management on a monthly basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the preparation of consolidated financial statements on a monthly basis as well the Lonza Group half-year and year-end external financial statements (in accordance with IFRS), comprising the preparation of financial section of Lonza's externally published Annual Report, in coordination with Lonza's Corporate Communication and Investor Relations departments

  • Works together with the team to ensure the compliance of Lonza's financial statements and the Annual Report with IFRS accounting standards as well as stock exchange regulations

  • Supports the yearly process of impairment calculations for Lonza's assessment with the external auditors

  • Plays an active role in the continuous improvement of the consolidation system in order to provide additional internal performance measurement information required by Lonza’s senior management as well as contributes to the evaluation and implementation of a new consolidation system

  • Assists in the development / implementation of new group accounting policies and operational accounting processes, including the support to business and finance teams in the application of the new guidelines

  • Strong business partnering with other corporate functions (Corporate Treasury, Corporate HR, Corporate Tax, Investor Relations and Group Communications), the segment finance teams as well as the business service organization

Key requirements:

  • Solid experience within technical accounting

  • Excellent English skills (both written and verbal)

  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS

  • "Big 4" background in an international environment advantegeous

  • Experience with financial consolidation systems (e.g. Hyperion, SAP BPC, OneStream) and Financial ERP Systems (e.g. SAP/BW)

  • Strong presentation skills; summarize complex matters in a clear, concise, accurate, and unambiguous way
