(Junior) Technical Sales Manager

This role will be responsible for providing timely and accurate translation of customer needs into estimates of time, cost and quality as well as creating project proposals, timelines, plans, quotations and pricing by co-ordinating and working with multiple technical and operational groups.

Lonza in Switzerland is looking for a Junior Technical Sales Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technically evaluate RfIs and RfPs

  • Transform a customer RfP into a project winning proposal, including site presentations

  • Write proposals under pressure to meet target timelines

  • Actively participate in the evaluation process in teleconferences or meetings with customers and be the host for customer visits

  • Providing timely and accurate estimates of time, cost and quality objectives for the defined scope of work and disclosing related opportunities and risks

  • Perform the cost evaluation in detail using different IT tools and taking advantage of technical and production knowledge (including Micronization)

  • Close collaboration within Technical Sales Team and with Sales, Commercial Development, Legal, HSE, Toxicology and SMEs on the different sites with focus on Monteggio and Quakertown

  • Give inputs to demand review and pipeline meetings and handover projects to PM organization

Key requirements:

  • Knowledge in small molecules CDMO / Chemical-pharmaceutical industry (cGMPs, ISO standards)

  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with various other company functions/stakeholders and customers    

  • Has been exposed to proposal process including technical package evaluation

  • Knowledge in Micronization techniques for (HP)APIs is a plus

  • Requested languages: English (Fluency in English is a Must); German, Italian (advantageous)
