Project Manager Warehouse/Logistics

The Logistics Project Manager prepares conceptual project goals, scope of work, project justification, design deliverables, TrackWise documentation, and compiles final project documents for project close-out to satisfy Lonza requirements. Collaborate and prioritize with Logistics Management Team, and other departments, to create an achievable work schedule and to ensure agreed upon timelines are met. Provide leadership, coaching, development & daily support their direct reports to ensure all operational activities within the daily operations are performed in a safe, cGMP compliant manner, is aware of the Site safety objectives and making sure these are communicated and understood by all staff.  Implement strategies to enhance the Warehouse & Logistics operation while ensuring alignment to site, sector and company goals. Define and implement procedures and policies within Warehouse operation to ensure audit/ inspection readiness at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies Warehouse/Receiving responsibilities, work to be performed and timelines pertaining to area of responsibility
  • Understand regulatory requirements and Lonza policies pertaining to the area of responsibility. Ensure Warehouse/Receiving policies or procedures are appropriate and establish and/or revise, as necessary.
  • Implement new strategies and process improvements to support the changing environment within the Supply Chain.
  • Measures throughput, performance and other appropriate metrics and report them to management.
  • Develop the technical and leadership skills of Warehouse and Receiving personnel and perform mid-year and annual reviews of supervised Warehouse/Receiving personnel.
  • Acts as advisor to other members of the Logistics Team to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

Key Requirements

  • BS/ BA Business or Science or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Supply Chain/ Warehouse/ Logistics, GMP preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred (leading a small-medium sized team)
  • APICS and PMP preferred
  • SAP experience, knowledge of working in a GMP Supply Chain operation, experienced in budget management
  • Computer skills, proven people leadership, project management, facilitation skills, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong people management experience, coach and mentor, attention to detail, displays a calm approach leader responsibilities, develops good working relationships with team and customers, practices safety awareness at all times, ability to find creative solutions to issues and obstacles
  • Safe work environment leadership, development of high performing teams, delivering progressive continuous improvement within the warehouse operation.
