Lonza is searching for a Remote, Senior Manager , Research & Innovation for our Ingredients Research & Innovation, Capsule and Health Ingredients (CHI) team. LONZA CHI . The incumbent is responsible for development and execution of all pre-clinical and clinical data in support of nutritional ingredients and technologies, both current and in development, plus support innovation activities that centers around expansion of ingredient as well as dosage form portfolio. The research and innovation activities shall fully align with the commercial goals of the CHI division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Think creatively (outside the box) to develop new applications of existing ingredients or develop new combinations

  • Develop scientific roadmap to support launch of new ingredient(s)/new combination(s)

  • Support concept development and active participation at customer meetings

  • Oversee the development of pre-clinical & clinical data

  • Create project plans mapping the entire project activities, timelines and budget

  • Excellent scientific writing skills including manuscript, scientific reports and opinions

  • Be able to translate and link scientific message to commercial/business relevance

  • Develop customer centric solutions that combines nutritional ingredients plus dosage form technologies

Key Requirements:

  • Advanced Education in Life Science (molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, biology, endocrinology, nutrition, or similar disciplines)

  • Ph.D. required

  • Strong understanding of scientific principles plus statistical experience as it pertains to the analysis of clinical, pre-clinical and in vitro scientific data

  • Significant previous industry experience in nutrition/nutraceuticals/dietary supplement, including interacting with sales & marketing, external CROs, and KOLs required

  • Ability to drive and complete scientific research in a timely manner

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Have excellent scientific writing skills and has attention to details

  • Ability to work cross functionally (Marketing, Sales, R&D/T, Legal, and Regulatory)

  • Excellent command of the English language

  • Ability to design, analyze, publish and present complex scientific studies and their results in a clear and concise manner

  • High level of self-motivation, commitment, focus, and a strong desire to make a difference via meaningful contributions
