Financial Communications Manager

The Financial Communications Manager reports to the Global Head of External Communications and is responsible for delivering Lonza’s Financial Communications and investor-related commitments throughout the reporting year. These include half- and full-year reporting, Lonza’s Annual Report, AGM, and Capital Markets Day. The Specialist drives the event management and content creation required and manages all IR communication channels, liaising closely with key stakeholders including the CEO, CFO, business divisions and Communications to ensure compliance and the highest quality. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Partners with colleagues and leaders across the business – including Investor Relations, Finance, Legal and business units – to support and organize key financial communications projects and announcements
  • Helps project manage and coordinate M&A communications
  • Project manage the creation of the Annual Report: planning, content management and coordination, and on time delivery
  • Drives Annual Report design planning and coordination
  • Coordinates Annual Report webpage development – briefing, supervision, setup of specific online functionalities, review of content implementation
  • Responsible for debriefing following publication of the Annual Report
  • Analysis and reporting of the performance of the website after publication
  • Undertakes peer benchmarking and monitors best practices for further development of the Annual Report
  • Support of Financial Reporting (Full- and Half-Year reporting)
  • Project management and coordination: process, timeline and resources
  • Supports with document creation (initial drafting of materials including news release, report, presentation, speech)
  • Responsible for setting up results call and supporting organization of results media conference together with CEO office and external communications teams
  • Supports with setting up investor Q&A database
  • Supports with peer research
  • Digital channels and tools
  • Responsible for updates of Lonza website in a timely manner
  • Drives further development of IR digital channels tools according to Lonza needs and industry best practices
  • Supports Annual General Meeting (AGM) planning and project management
  • Supports AGM execution and oversees AGM service providers and support team
  • Drives and supports AGM materials preparation including news release, speeches and briefing notes
  • Takes responsibility for the set-up and execution of Capital Markets Day in collaboration with the Head of IR, CEO office and Communications
  • Coordinates event logistics including invitations, venue, etc with the CEO office
  • Supports content creation including presentations, Q&A, speeches and briefing notes

Key requirements:

  • Solid experience in financial or corporate communications
  • Exemplary writing and verbal communications skills (native or near-native English proficiency)
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and processes
  • Excellent project management skills and strong interpersonal skills to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate and lead diverse teams across the business towards a shared goal
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and Word
  • CMS (Content Management System) and InDesign skills preferable
