The Associate Director position is critical to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of marketing campaigns for Lonza’s CDMO Small Molecules division. Campaigns will be designed working closely with key stakeholders in the divisions and business units especially Senior Leaders in Strategic Marketing / Commercial Development and Sales Management functions across services, technologies and product phases, i.e. preclinical / development and launch / commercial. The Associate Director, Campaigns will play a critical role in implementing and adapting the campaign concept, and best practices developed in Small Molecules campaigns, to the other business units across Lonza. This position will have a team of Campaign Managers direct reports and this team is charged with the execution of parent campaigns critical for the Small Molecules business units.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor CDMO Small Molecules marketing campaigns with a strong focus on maximizing lead generation and building brand awareness consistent with technology-specific market plans inclusive of event planning, execution and reporting results. Post and review calendars with commercial teams in the business units.
  • Support the tactical mix of Small Molecule inbound and outbound, in-person and digital tactics for campaign execution such as events, webinars, Subject Matter Expert content, thought leadership, content marketing etc) to reach individual program goals and measurement criteria per campaign.
  • Jointly with B&A implement media plans consistent with the Small Molecule market plan messaging working with public relations service providers. Post calendars. Measure and monitor results.
  • Jointly with the Digital team execute Small Molecule digital programs that attracts new prospects inclusive of SEO / SEM optimization.  Develop digital content as warranted, e.g. homepages for campaigns.  Measure and monitor results.
  • Together with the Digital team manage communities and implement nurturing programs with new and re-purposed content.
  • Manage and coordinate promotional outreach associated with Small Molecule campaigns across all channels including sales presentations, brochures, white papers and wider SME content.
  • Train and develop junior marketing resources within CDMO.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for Small Molecule campaigns and general market communications working with Strategic Marketing Heads

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience in pharma / biotech services /CDMO industry
  • Significant experience in a marketing and/or communications role in a B2B business  executing multi-channel campaigns
  • Experience in content development, market communications, digital marketing
  • Established knowledge of media channels and contacts
  • Proven ability to influence key senior decision-makers and drive change
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Creative and adaptable
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix structure
  • Demonstrated organization, planning and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to build team and influence contributors across functions
  • Comfortable with utilization of CRM systems and SFDC specifically
  • Technical writing; ability to develop marketing collateral from existing technical and commercial presentations
  • Demonstrated copy writing and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and cost-effectively work with external vendors
  • Quick and efficient decision-making and problem solving skills
