Senior Technical & GMP Trainer

Lonza Cell and Gene Therapy facility, located in Houston, Texas, is the largest in the world and our facility is growing.  We are looking for a Senior Technical and GMP Trainer to oversee training programs and schedules for new hires and current employees. The Senior Technical Trainer will provide Classroom, hands on Aseptic and Technical training and coaching.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor junior Technical and GMP trainers in an informal leadership capacity

  • Distribute and monitor training tasks and responsibilities

  • Tracks training KPIs and reports results to the team and management

  • Performs assessment of the new training's and ensures proper maintenance of the training road map

  • Provide classroom and hands-on aseptic technical training

  • Assess trainee competency, provide feedback, and coach trainees success

  • Works closely with department SMEs to effectively design and align training programs which build core aseptic and general process expertise

  • Liaison with department manager(s) to identify technical training needs and expectations.  Monitor and share progress and outcomes

  • Coordinate and oversee training programs

  • Assess training programs for continuous improvement, error reduction, and increased operator aseptic and process knowledge and skill

  • Support investigations, CAPAs, and change controls related to training

  • This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, across all levels of the organization and ability to authoritatively discuss technical issues with internal and customer experts.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science

  • GMP compliance knowledge

  • Cell culture, molecular biology or biotech/biopharma laboratory and/or manufacturing experience, preferably in a cGMP manufacturing environment

  • Planning/Organizing/Controlling training schedules
